Occupation: Journalist, Logger, Environmental Warrior
My goal is to represent the people of Oregon District 1. Natural resources, forestry and forest law have been my way of life. Forestry feeds my family.
I serve on the Tiller school board. We must take steps to protect our children, our forest, rivers and fish, jobs, and industries and our rich way of life. School Choice is more important than ever with the passing of HB2002 to protect our kids. The HCP that was recently signed in January curtailed the harvest of 58% of the State timber lands.
Sustainable forests, and their lumber could’ve been used to build the homes we need.
As a Republican with conservative values at my core, I have watched while projects like the wind turbine threaten our fishing industries, and our salmon. Ratepayers will not be able to heat their homes if cost reach the expected $1.00 per Kilowatt that was forecast by Coos County Commissioner Bob Main. I oppose the wind energy project and will support the County Commissioners in their fight to refuse to allow the project to come on land in their County, and my District.
Rather than pursuing business interaction with China, I would pursue changes in our forestry practices to protect our cities and towns by building adequate fire breaks and defueling areas of concern. It is no longer if a fire comes, but rather when. I want to prepare my District. Building these fire breaks would provide employment for low skilled workers while offering potential assistance with the homelessness.
I am pro:
I am against:
• CRT
• HB2002
• Measure 110, Organic plants
without further processing should
be legal.
• Dangerous drugs need made
illegal and harder to get, with
consequences for use.
• Chinese influence on our state
government, and foreign land
ownership.
• Candidates taking donations from
members of the Democrat Party • Wind Turbines
The HCP- I would encourage all Counties to join in a Class Action Suit
• Enabling homelessness
